“Growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona, I had so much fun riding my bike alongside friends and family. Remarkably, that is still what I find myself doing today. My wife and I actively engage in mountain biking with our two incredible kids, who have taken part in the AZ NICA program. It is my aspiration to elevate their experience and wholeheartedly contribute everything I can to the younger generation of mountain bikers, giving back in every possible way.”

“My family and I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors. We have a son who was an enthusiastic BMX racer and became a member of a mountain biking team in high school. This marked the beginning of our family’s journey into mountain biking. Inspired by his fervor and adoration for biking, both my husband and the rest of our children have developed the same passion. Since 2018, I have joyfully dedicated myself to volunteering and coaching, an endeavor that brings me immense fulfillment.”

“In 2018, I embarked on a cycling journey as a volunteer and Certified Coach for the local mountain bike team. Along with my children, we joined the North Valley Riders amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Scottsdale. After a few years of practicing in the hot summer and fall, several coaches and I formed a new AZ NICA team to align with Arizona’s spring racing season, and we launched the STAR Foundation Composite Team to support student athletes in our community throughout the year.”

“During my daughter’s time with the AZ NICA league, I cherished the excitement of coaching exceptional students and building valuable connections with families. At age 46, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, which I manage actively by using a continuous glucose monitor and administering insulin injections. I adore mountain biking alongside my daughter Avery, running with my son Luke, and embarking on thrilling adventures with my wife, Stephanie. I take pride in sharing not only my biking expertise but also my resilience in dealing with a chronic condition and my profound affection for family and friends.”
